The Royal White Stallion BOTW Quest And Horse Location

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild offers players an expansive open world filled with hidden side quests, unique mounts, and rich lore. Among the most majestic steeds available in Hyrule is the Royal White Stallion, a direct descendant of Princess Zelda's personal horse. Securing this extraordinary mount requires accepting a specific side quest and mastering the mechanics of taming wild horses.
Starting the Royal White Stallion Quest
To begin your search for this legendary mount, head to the Outskirt Stable located northwest of the Great Plateau. Speak with an NPC named Toffa, who stands near the front of the stable and reminisces about the royal family's pure white horse. He requests that you locate the stallion, tame it, and bring it back to prove that the royal lineage of steeds still lives on in Hyrule.
Before embarking on the quest, ensure that Link has sufficient stamina or stamina-restoring meals ready in his inventory. Taming wild creatures in Breath of the Wild demands considerable physical endurance, especially when dealing with top-tier mounts like this one. Preparing stealth-boosting armor or elixirs can also make approaching the cautious beast significantly easier.
Finding the Exact Horse Location
The Royal White Stallion spawns in a specific zone called Safula Hill, situated just north of the Outskirt Stable across the Regencia River. As you reach the rolling green fields of Safula Hill, look near the prominent stone statue dedicated to Sanidin Park Ruins. The white stallion stands out clearly against the landscape, grazing peacefully among the grass.
Unlike ordinary horses that travel in herds, the royal stallion wanders alone, making it easy to identify from a distance. Crouch and move slowly from behind to avoid startling the creature, taking advantage of nearby trees or tall grass for cover. Alternatively, gliding down from a high vantage point directly onto its back is an effective approach.
Taming and Calming the Stallion
Once you mount the Royal White Stallion, it will immediately attempt to buck Link off in an effort to regain freedom. Rapidly press the soothe button to calm the wild animal before your stamina wheel completely depletes. It typically requires around two full wheels of stamina to successfully tame this wild horse.
If your stamina runs low during the taming process, pause the game immediately and consume stamina-replenishing dishes. Once the stallion settles down, carefully ride it back down the path toward the Outskirt Stable. Be mindful of nearby enemies along the road to ensure a safe journey back to Toffa.
Completing the Quest and Gear Rewards
Return to the Outskirt Stable while riding the white stallion and speak to Toffa to present the magnificent horse. Delighted by the sight, Toffa rewards you with the Royal Saddle and Royal Bridle, exclusive gear items that perfectly complement the horse's pristine appearance.
To permanently keep the mount, register it with the stable master for a small fee of 20 rupees. Once registered, you can customize its gear and build its affection level to maximum, unlocking exceptional speed and stamina stats that make exploring Hyrule much more efficient.
